Mother's story

If any horse ever asked me who the most influential horse in my life was, I would defiantly say my Mother.
My mother was always very patient, kind, gentle, wise and loving. I knew no matter how much I tried, I could never be as wonderful as she was.
She would always teach without raising her voice, give encouragement or praise sincerely even if she could do much better, discipline or correct without anger and love unconditionally. I could never find a fault in her.
From a very early age I knew I wanted to follow her hoof steps and become a successful show jumper.
For hours I could watch her clear logs and stumps in the paddock. She could perfectly jump over hurdles that were even taller than me. I thought she was amazing.
One day I asked her why Tinker and Prince hated each other. This is what she told me…
“A long time ago, when I was a just a filly, Tinker and your Sire had a disagreement about who would be the lead stallion.
Farmer Jo’s young, inexperienced children (who were taking care of the farm while Farmer Jo was away) thought they would always get along since they got along really well for the first few days so they put them into the same paddock.
Tinker was born on the farm so he’d always been the leader but when Prince arrived, since he was stronger and older, all the horses were confused.
Prince met me when I was on a walk and we fell in love. Tinker was jealous’ why mother? I interrupted ‘because he wanted all the mares and fillies to be part of his herd and back then I was the prettiest.
